This allegation came from a specialist Metropolitan Police team working for Operation Tuleta. Police believe that former PSNI Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde's computer could have been hacked by the News of the World while he was in office.

This allegation came from a specialist Metropolitan Police team working for Operation Tuleta, which is examining computer hard drives seized from at least three private detectives used by News International, according to Irish Independent.

The Irish newspaper said that Orde was "shocked and angry" when he was told he might have been a victim of computer hacking. This allegation comes a day after the news that former secretary Peter Hain's computer could have been hacked. Orde, who served in the North Ireland between 2002 and 2009, now heads the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in England. According to sources in Northern Ireland, "Hacking into the emails of the Chief Constable is about as bad as it gets."
